Dino Park Algar

Dino Park Algar not only makes for a great day out but also the chance to spend the night under the stars. Many holidaymakers to Torrevieja, especially those with young children, enjoy visiting theme and water parks. Although Torrevieja has the superb Aquopolis Water Park, it unfortunately has no theme parks. However, in north Costa Blanca around Benidorm there are several excellent theme parks to visit. Boasting a fantastic location up in the mountains, you will find Dino Park Algar. It gets it’s name from the nearby stunning Algar Waterfalls.

Dino Park Algar

The only problem with visiting Algar for the day, is there is just so much to see and do. Besides the dinosaur park you have the delights of the waterfalls and surrounding protected nature park. Incorporated into Dino Park is Cactus D’Algar, one of the largest botanical and cactus gardens in Europe. A short drive from the park is the mountaintop village of Guadalest, the most visited village in Spain. This looks over the beautiful Guadalest valley and lake. So, if you’re planning a trip from Torrevieja and wish to visit all the attractions of this magical area, throw in some camping gear and spend the night at the picturesque Camping Fonts D’Algar.

Dino Park Algar Attractions

Dino Park Algar is located in a beautiful area of hills and mountains. The park lies close to the village of Callosa d’en Sarriá and about 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Torrevieja via the AP-7. The park blends in wonderfully with the surrounding botanical gardens. Following the nature trails visitors will encounter dozens of life-size, sound robotic dinosaurs. During the heat of summer visitors can cool off in the rock built swimming pool. Close to this is a paleontological children’s playground. Rounding off the attractions is a 3D cinema and small museum.

Dino Park Algar Camping

Camping Fonts D’Algar is within walking distance from both Dino Park and Algar Waterfalls. With its mountainside setting it has to be one of the most beautiful camping grounds in Spain. The campsite offers over 140 large tent and caravan pitches. Many trees offer welcoming shade and some plots have electric and water. Prices are reasonable and campers get free entrance to Algar Waterfalls. Within the lovely stone built reception complex is a bar/cafe. They serve a good range of soft and alcoholic drinks, snacks and meals. There is a small supermarket and picnic and barbecue areas for campers who wish to cater for themselves.

Dino Park Algar Dining & Entertainment

Further dining options can be found in five restaurants that sit on either side of the falls and river. For the most amazing views, Restaurante Les Fonts terrace looks over the main falls. Alternately, there is a choice of shops, tapas bars and restaurants in the nearby village of  Callosa d’en Sarriá. Children are well catered for at the campsite. Near the picnic area is a kids playground. Algar Aventura is a thrilling adventure park complete with zip-line, obstacle course, suspended bridges, climbing nets and an exciting climbing wall.
