Torrevieja City Bus Routes
One of the most confusing things for visitors to Torrevieja is the local bus service, and unless your Spanish is good and you are prepared to do your homework it may always remain a bit of a mystery. This being said, if you write down or memorise a few important Spanish words and stick to the main bus stops, you should get to where you are going. When I first took a bus from Torrevieja to neighbouring Orihuela Costa, 3 questions I memorised proved very helpful. Donde Esta (where is) parada de autobus (bus stop) and regreso aqui (return here). With these and a few hand gestures I got to my destination and back with no problem. Most bus drivers will know popular areas or commercial centres close to their bus route so if you know a popular landmark near where you are going, mention it to the driver and they will hopefully drop you at the closest stop.
The area of Orihuela Costa is made up of popular beachside resorts and residential areas and is a favourite destination for visitors to Torrevieja, with fantastic beaches, loads of shops, bars, restaurants and the famous Zenia Boulevard. Unless you know your routes, the best thing is to start, and end your journey at Torrevieja’s main bus terminal, located in the centre of the city next to Mercadona supermarket. From here there is a choice of 2 bus routes to Orihuela Costa. The first is (linea) route F/D that takes you to the the beach area of (Rocio Del Mar) Punta Prima. The other, route E goes slightly inland to Los Balcones where the popular Villa Park 111 commercial centre is located. Again, unless you know your routes, on the return journey the 2 main stops in Torrevieja are in the harbour area where the bus, unless late, will stop for a while, and the other is the main bus terminal.
Other routes in and around Torrevieja include route A Torrevieja-La Mata, route B Torrevieja-Torretas, route C Torrevieja-Las Lomas and route G Torrevieja-San Luis. For bus times, just ask at the main terminal for a bus schedule.
